SPLS New Content on Pharmacy for Middle School Students

Today we have a group of student bloggers sharing the content they have created in the Student Personalized Learning System.

Three students enrolled in the Waukee Aspiring Professional Experience (APEX) program, specifically the Exploration of Health Sciences and Medicine team have designed a curriculum for middle school students about a career in pharmacy.

These students are:

Haya Alsaadi - Junior

Colin Orth - Junior

Tarush Bhatia - Senior

This module is called Career: Pharmacy (MS) and can be found in the Student Personalized Learning System on the AEA website. It’s available for use by any student or teacher across the state of Iowa. Information students will learn from the curriculum are:  the different types of pharmacists, the education needed to be a pharmacist, and where pharmacists work.

We chose this topic because we are interested in going into a medical field career. We are interested in pharmacy and wanted to see what it takes to be one and what education is needed. This module was added to the Student Personalized Learning and can be found on the AEA website. There are also many other modules available for use in the K-12 classroom, including science, art, phonics, math, and career modules. Take a look!
