Iowa History Content Added to Student Personalize Learning System

Just added- Iowa History Content.

With support from Sandra Host and Dee Engstrom who have worked in conjunction with the Iowa Department of Education to create content about Iowa History for teachers, AEA PD Online has added two new modules about Iowa History.

  • Iowa's Unsung Prairie Transformation to Farms and One Room Schools 1870-1900 Part 1 will help your students learn how the tall grass prairies discourages settlement of Iowa, how the Iowa legislature developed processes such as schools, railroad and more to entice immigrants to Iowa.
  • Iowa's Unsung Prairie Transformation to Farms and One Room Schools 1870-1900 Part 2  will help your students learn more about how Iowa transformed prairie to farms, towns and one room school houses.

You can find these modules in the Student Personalized Learning System  by logging in and clicking on Modules and Social Studies OR by searching for Iowa in the search field.  More Iowa History modules will be added in the near future, so come back often.

If you wish to use these with students or have any questions please contact Denise Krefting  or Melissa Wicklund .
